Integrated Prenatal Screening (IPS)
Your IPS testing is done in two parts. You must complete both parts to get accurate results.
The first part consists of an ultrasound and bloodwork that are both done on the same day.
You will be given an appointment date and time for the ultrasound. This part will be done when you are between 11 and 14 weeks pregnant.
You will need to come in to the office to pick up your requisitions and get instructions prior to your appointment date.
You must take 2 requisitions with you when you go to have the first part of your test done. Please drink 4 large glasses of water, finishing 1-1.5 hours prior to your ultrasound appointment time.
After your ultrasound, you will need to go to a laboratory to have blood work done.
The second part of your test will be done when you are between 15 and 18 weeks pregnant. This part of your test is bloodwork only but you still need to take 2 requisitions with you. You will not need an appointment for this part and our office will not call to remind you.
It is best if you go to the same laboratory to have your blood work done for both parts of your IPS testing.
Only after completion of both parts of the test will we receive results.
